BS EN 10025-1:2004 Hot rolled products of structural steels. General technical delivery conditions

BS EN 10025-1 sets out the requirements for flat and long products of hot rolled structural steels. This excludes structural hollow sections and tubes. The standard also specifies the general delivery conditions of these products. The steels covered are normally used in welded, bolted and riveted structures. BS EN 10025-1 doesn’t apply to coated products or to steel products used in general structural applications. BS EN 10025-1 looks at the classification and designations of these steel products. It explains the manufacturing process, steelmaking and delivery conditions. The standard also shares the requirements for the chemical composition and mechanical properties of steel products. Other topics covered are inspection, sampling and various test methods, including impact, tensile and yield tests.

BS EN 10025-2:2004 Hot rolled products of structural steels. Technical delivery conditions for non-alloy structural steels

This European Standard, a part of the BS EN 10025 series, specifies the technical delivery conditions for flat and long products and semi-finished products which are meant for further processing to flat and long products of hot rolled non-alloy quality steels in the grades and qualities given in chemical composition tables and mechanical properties tables in the delivery conditions. Chemical composition and mechanical properties of three engineering steels are also specified. This standard does not apply to structural hollow sections and tubes. The technical delivery conditions apply to thickness ≥3 mm and ≤150 mm for long products of steel grade S450J0. The technical delivery conditions apply to thickness ≤250 mm for flat and long products of all other grades and qualities. In addition for flat products of qualities J2 and K2 the technical conditions apply to thickness ≤400 mm. The steels specified in this standard are not intended to be heat treated except products delivered in delivery condition +N. Stress relief annealing is permitted. Products delivered in +N condition can be hot formed and/or normalized after delivery. Products made of steel grades S185, E295, E335 and E360 cannot be CE marked. The steels specified in this Part 2 are not intended to be heat treated except products delivered in delivery condition +N. Stress relief annealing is permitted (see also the NOTE in 7.3.1.1 of EN 10025-1:2004). Products delivered in +N condition can be hot formed and/or normalized after delivery (see Clause 3). Semi-finished products which are to be converted to rolled finished products conforming to this document should be the subject of special agreement at the time of the enquiry and order. The chemical composition can also be agreed at the time of the order, however the values should be within the limits of Tables 2 and 3. For certain grades and product forms suitability for particular applications may be specified at the time of the enquiry and order (see 7.4.2, 7.4.3 and Table 10).

BS EN 10025-3:2004Hot rolled products of structural steels. Technical delivery conditions for normalized/normalized rolled weldable fine grain structural steels

This document, in addition to part 1, specifies requirements for flat and long products of hot  rolled weldable fine grain structural steels in the normalized/normalized rolled delivery  condition in the grades and qualities to chemical composition and mechanical properties. In addition to EN 10025-1:2004 the steels specified in this document are especially intended for  use in heavily loaded parts of welded structures such as, bridges, flood gates, storages tanks, water supply tanks, etc, for service at ambient and low temperatures. This European Standard, a part of the BS EN 10025 series, specifies requirements for flat and long products of hot rolled weldable fine grain structural steels in the normalized/normalized rolled delivery condition in the grades and qualities given  in chemical composition tables and mechanical properties tables in thicknesses less than or equal to 250 mm for grades S275, S355 and S420 and in thicknesses less than or equal to 200 mm for grade S460. In addition to BS EN 10025-1:2004, the steels specified in this standard are intended for use in heavily loaded parts of welded structures such as, bridges, flood gates, storages tanks, water supply tanks, etc., for service at ambient and low temperatures. This European Standard covers the classification and designation of steel grades, information to be supplied by the purchaser, the manufacturing process, general requirements, inspection, preparation of samples and test pieces, and test methods for weldable fine grain structural steels.

BS EN 10025-4:2004Hot rolled products of structural steels. Technical delivery conditions for thermomechanical rolled weldable fine grain structural steels
This European Standard, a part of the BS EN 10025 series, specifies requirements for flat and long products of hot rolled weldable fine grain structural steels in the thermomechanical rolled condition in the grades and qualities given in chemical composition tables and mechanical properties tables in thicknesses less than or equal to 120 mm for flat products and in thicknesses less than equal to 150 mm for long products. In addition to BS EN 10025-1 the steels specified in this standard are intended for use in heavily loaded parts of welded structures such as, bridges, flood gates, storage tanks, water supply tanks, etc., for service at ambient and low temperatures. This European Standard covers the classification and designation of steel grades, information to be supplied by the purchaser, the manufacturing process, general requirements, inspection, preparation of samples and test pieces and  test methods for weldable fine grain structural steels.

BS EN 10025-5:2004Hot rolled products of structual steels. Technical delivery conditons for structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance

Part 5 of this document, in addition to part 1, specifies requirements for flat and long products of hot rolled steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance in the grades and qualities given in Tables 2 and 3 (chemical composition) and Tables 4 and 5 (mechanical properties) in the usual delivery conditions as given in 6.3. The thicknesses in which products of the steel grades and qualities specified in this document may be supplied are given in Table 1. In addition to EN 10025-1:2004 the steels specified in this document are especially intended for use in welded, bolted and riveted components which shall have enhanced resistance to atmospheric corrosion, for service at ambient temperatures (subject to the restrictions described in 7.4.1). The steels specified in this Part 5 are not intended to be heat treated except products delivered in the delivery condition +N. Stress relief annealing is permitted (see also the NOTE in 7.3.1.1 of EN 10025-1:2004). Products delivered in +N condition can be hot formed and/or normalized after delivery (see Clause 3). BS EN 10025-6:2009Hot rolled products of structural steels. Technical delivery conditions for flat products of high yield strength structural steels in the quenched and tempered condition

BS EN 10025-6:2004 + Amendment 1 (along with BS EN 10025-1) is an indispensable guide to those who specify, purchase or supply steel, of the standard purchase specifications and delivery conditions for flat products of high yield strength alloy special steels supplied in the quenched and tempered condition. BS EN 10025-6 is the European standard prepared under Mandate M/120 given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of the EU Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC). “Hot forming” was reworded due to the publication of CEN/TR 10347:2006 which had been prepared by the experts in high strength steels of ECISS/TC 10, CEN/TC 135 and CEN/TC 250/SC 3. Hot forming is not recommended for quenched and tempered steels, as the necessary heat treatment after hot forming is very difficult to reproduce. This European standard, a part of the BS EN 10025 series, specifies requirements for flat products of high yield strength alloy special steels. The grades and qualities are provided in chemical composition tables and mechanical properties tables and are supplied in the quenched and tempered condition. The steels specified in BS EN 10025 are applicable to hot-rolled flat products with a minimum nominal thickness of 3 mm and a maximum nominal thickness ≤ 150 mm for grades S460, S500, S550, S620 and S690, a maximum nominal thickness ≤ 100 mm for grade S890 and a maximum nominal thickness ≤ 50 mm for grade S960, in steels which, after quenching and tempering, have a specified minimum yield strength of 460 MPa to 960 MPa. Part 6 of this document, in addition to part 1, specifies requirements for flat products of high yield strength alloy special steels. The grades and qualities are given under ‘chemical composition’ and ‘mechanical properties’ and are supplied in the quenched and tempered condition.
