The program The plate is built on the finite element method, but the user sees this only in mesh pictures on the plate field, the elements are decomposed without his participation. The user determines the geometry of the plate, the load, the support, arranges the piles, as it is done on a sheet of paper or drawing in AUTOCAD, with the mouse cursor and click on the button. The procedure for setting the initial data in the program brings pleasure with its simplicity, does not require any computer skills, even the experience of calculating structures. Nevertheless, an experienced calculator must work. The program Plate is only a convenient tool, the design scheme is always only a mathematical model, which can be changed, achieving the desired result.
As a result of calculation, the program Plate displays color fields of movements, stresses and reinforcement of the plate with palettes according to the color values. The fields of the longitudinal and transverse reinforcement are drawn, calculation is made for puncturing by point load and support (column, pile). Calculation of draft and bank according to SNIP or SP is made, to choose from. The user of the Plate in one calculation receives the full range of results required for the design of the slab. To analyze the work of the basis, we recommend using the program in conjunction with the program "Plato", built on fundamentally different theoretical positions.
Program The plate allows to calculate flat reinforced concrete slabs of arbitrary geometry in plan, with stiffeners, thickenings and holes, any type of loads, on the basis of oblique soil layers, piles of calculated software rigidity, columns or supports of arbitrary configuration. It is possible to take into account karst phenomena in the form of funnels, which should be simply drawn, the bed coefficient is automatically calculated according to 5 different methods, the user is only asked to choose a method.
